ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURETriamcinolone acetonide 21-oic acid methyl ester, othercompounds affecting the arachidonic acid cascade and otherknown synthesis inhibitors, and topical and pharmaceuticalcompositions thereof are utilized in a method of treatingultraviolet radiation exposed skin to inhibit ultravioletradiation suppression of delayed hypersensitivity in theepidermis thereby reducing or obviating the carcinogeniceffects of the sunburn. Formulations of the triamcinoloneacetonide 21-enoic acid methyl ester preferably containabout 0.005 to 1.0 percent by weight of the activeingredient.
