A B S T R A C T .A compact apparatus for ultra high energy efficientheating, cooling and dehumidifying of air for use in hea-ting, cooling and heat recovery ventilation of buildingscomprises two matrix containers and a fuel combustor for ge-nerating useful heat, with the two matrix containers housingstationary matrices of solid materials providing alternatelyhigh energy efficient : a) transfer of energy from combus-tion products and exhausted air to incoming make up air, b)indirect evaporative cooling, c) indirect-direct evaporativecooling, d) dehumidification-indirect evaporative cooling,e) dehumidification-indirect-direct evaporative cooling.A continuous alternate and countercurrent flow of twoair streams through the two matrix containers and a continu-ous flow of the air through the apparatus is maintained byalternately operating air fans controlled by a solid stateprocessor.The apparatus intended for use in buildings automati-cally maintains comfort and quality of the air in the occu-pied space of the building during the winter heating season,summer cooling season, and the rest of the year - ventilatingseason, and can be also effectively used in numerous indust-rial heating, dehumidifying and cooling operations.T I T L E O F I N V E N T I O N ."
