CUE SIGNALS AND CUE DATA BLOCKFOR USE WITH RECORDED MESSAGESABSTRACTA dictation/transcription system wherein identifyingsignals are recorded with audio messages. One of at leasttwo different types of identifying signals, such as single ordouble bursts of cue tones, together with a block of digitaldata are recorded. The digital data block is comprised offields of data for providing additional message identifyinginformation, such as message type, time and date ofrecording, author identification and the location of themessage on the record medium.
