TOBACCO PRODUCT FOR SELF-MAKING A CIGARETTE, ESPECIALLY A FILTER CIGARETTE, AND METHOD OF SELF-MAKING A CIGARETTE

A tobacco product for self-making a cigarette, especially a filter cigarette, comprising a tobacco portion (10) adapted to the tobacco filling of a finished cigarette and having an outer surface (11) permeable to air so that it cannot be smoked as it is, wherein the tobacco portion (10) including said outer surface (11) consists of completely smokable material or material adapted to be consumed by smoking. The tobacco portion (10) is elastically deformed such that it has a length which is less than the length of the tobacco receiving space (13) of a respective cigarette paper tube (12) and/or has a cross-section which differs from the cross-section of the tobacco receiving space (13) of the respective cigarette paper tube (12) either in respect of size or shape such that said tobacco portion cannot be introduced into the tobacco receiving space (13) unless it is previously manipulated. Preferentially, it is by manual stretching and/or radial shaping, especially by compression, that the thus configured tobacco portion (10) is caused to adopt a shape which in respect of length and cross-section corresponds to the shape of the tobacco receiving space (13) of the respective cigarette paper tube (12).
