To improve a process and device for primed and/or undercoated and rubbed-down hollow bodies with at least two apertures, especially motor vehicle coachwork, for the final painting of the outer surfaces, especially for use in painting tunnels, so that internal cleaning takes place without affecting the work rate and so that existing painting tunnels can subsequently be fitted with the device, it is proposed that the final painting be preceded by ventilation-type internal cleaning process in which one or more telescopic blower arm(s) is/are introduced inside the hollow body through the apertures from one or both sides in such a way that at least one aperture remains unoccupied, extractor arms are applied to the unoccupied aperture(s), high pulsed-pressure air is blown into the inside of the hollow body via the blower arms and at least part of the air blown in is extracted via the extractor arm(s) as excess air.
