The genes encoding the human FK-506 binding protein and a S. cerevisiae homolog, FKB1, are described, as well as their expression and the amino acid sequences of the protein products. These binding proteins are useful, interalia, for screening compounds useful as immunosuppressive drugs that block allograft rejection by preventing T-cell activation.
