It is intended to provide a method, suitable for use with automatic machines, of manufacturing a coil former (1) having a connecting plate (4) which is held such that it can pivot on its one end flange (11) and, after winding of the coil former (1), can be pivoted above the winding space, and which is latchable on the other end flange (12), into which connecting plate (4) there are to be moulded connecting pins (7, 8, 9) with inner pin ends (72, 82, 92) for the winding ends and outer pin ends (71, 81, 91) for an external connector; the following method steps are proposed for this purpose: a) the connecting pins (7, 8, 9) are held prestocked in the final mutual position in which they will be used in a changing magazine (WM); b) the changing magazine (WM) is supplied with the positioned connecting pins (7, 8, 9) of an injection-moulded shape (GF) for the insulating body (connecting plate 4) such that the connecting pins (7, 8, 9) can be injection-moulded in the position in the insulating body (connecting plate 4) in which they will be used and such that the changing magazine (WM) forms a terminating part of the injection- moulded shape (GF).
