Method of thermally shaping polymethyl methacrylate sheets, and the shaped products

A method is described for thermoforming a sheet of poly(methyl methacrylate) exhibiting a reduced viscosity of at least 1.5 and protected, on at least one of its faces, by a film, in intimate contact with it, of an ethylene polymer which has been subjected to a corona discharge treatment. According to the invention, a protective film of ethylene polymer with a density not exceeding 0.935 and having a melt index lower than 1.0 g/10 min is employed.
