The invention relates to a method and device for generating heat, with reduced emission of sulphur and nitrogen oxides. Combustion (1) of a fuel which contains sulphur and nitrogen is effected, the combustion effluents and particles of a fresh absorbent are introduced into a turbulence zone (9) upstream of an adiabatic desulphurisation zone (8) and the mixture produced is conveyed into a heat recovery zone (16).
