Novel antistreptolysin-o reagent for use with Beckman nephelometer system

A reagent for detecting the presence of an antibody to an antigen in a sample comprising the antigen in admixture with Rheumatoid Factor antibody. The reagent is useful in a method for screening for antibody in a sample comprising the steps of:(a) contacting the sample to be screened for antibody with the reagent, and(b) detecting an immunoprecipitation from an immunocomplexing of antibody and antigen to produce a signal indicative of the presence of antibody in the sample. The reagent is particularly steptolysine-O in admixture with Rheumatoid Factor antibody and is particularly useful in a method for detecting anti-streptolysine-O.
