The invention relates to an optical system (11) and electronic (29, 37, 51, 55, 59) integrated based on the light emission, for measuring temperature or some other parameter based on the disintegration time a light emitting sensor (25). For this purpose, an amplifier with low noise and high bandwidth (31) applies a luminescent signal detected in disintegration to a digital system (29, 37, 51) which acquires this signal and processes it to determine the characteristic decay time, which are then related to the temperature or other parameters to measure. The digital signal processing operation utilizes a digital curve fitting technique. A preferred luminescent material for measuring the temperatures is constituted by a yttrium-gallium garnet material doped with chromium. All optical and electronic components of the measuring system fit on one small circuit board (131).
