METHOD OF DETECTING, BY COMPUTING MACHINE, IDENTICAL DATA ELEMENTS IN TWO DATA SEQUENCES

Two data sequences are compared by constituting a data structure by means of which an assignment of identical data elements of the data sequences is carried out. In a first assignment, all the data elements which are present only once in each of the two sequences are mutually affected, in connection with an assignment of identical data elements, present in the immediate vicinity in a descending sequence and in a rising sequence. In a second assignment, the assignable data elements previously found, from a first assignment block as large as possible, are assigned within each assignment sector, which is limited by data elements assigned in the first assignment . In a third assignment, the previously found assignable data elements, from a first assignment domain as large as possible, are assigned within the two complete sequences of data. In this way, a maximum number of data elements are assigned.
