Use of mono- or diesters and their mixtures and their metal or amino salts and of borated monoesters in mineral oil-based transfer fluids

There are disclosed zinc and nickel salts of mono- or di- esters of C12-C50 aliphatic hydrocarbon substituted succinic acids or anhydrides, such as octadecenyl succinic anhydride, with thio-bis-alkanols such as dithiodiethanol. The products are useful as antioxidants for lubricating oils and functional fluids, especially automatic transmission fluids.
