An electronically conductive polymer doped with anions of a heteropolyacid of formula: Hn(XMyVy',Oz in which n, y, y' and z are such that 2/=n/=6, 6/=y/=18, 0/=y'/=12, 24/=z/=70 and 6/=y+y'/=18, X is an element such as P or Si, and M is Mo or W. These polymers can be prepared by chemical or electrochemical oxidation from a solution containing the heteropolyacid and the monomer capable of forming an electronically conductive polymer by oxidation, for example pyrrole, thiophene, aniline, para- phenylenediamine, acetylene, benzene and their substituted derivatives.
