(A) A prestressed and/or bent IR-reflective soda-lime-silicate glass pane is produced by applying a silver layer and then a metal oxide anti-reflection layer onto one or both sides of a transparent glass substrate, followed by thermal prestressing and/or bending at 580-680 (pref. 600-650) deg.C. The novelty is that at least one silver layer and one external metal (alloy) layer are applied to the flat glass substrate, followed by the prestressing and/or bending operation during which the external layer transforms, with volume increase, into an absorption-free metal oxide layer of refractive index at least 1.7 which forms (part of) the anti-reflection layer. (B) A glass pane, produced by the process is also claimed. (C) Also claimed is use of the glass pane as (i) an individual pane of a composite glass pane, esp. for vehicle glazing, having adjacent the bonding foil, a coating consisting of an anti-reflection layer next to the glass, a silver layer and an external anti-reflection layer formed by a metal oxide intermediate layer and an outer layer of TiO2 and/or Ta2O5; and (ii) an individual pane of an insulating glass unit for building glazing, the coating having an anti-reflection layer next to the glass, a silver layer and an external anti-reflection layer of Ta2O5.
