A computer-aided system for the microinjection in or extraaction from individual cells uses a capillary which is adjusted relative to a partic. cell, observed through a microscope and a TV camera. A mark is superimposed to the cell in the TV picture and its coordinates are stored in the computer memory. The computer calculates therefrom the coordinates for the capillary movement or for the table carrying the cells to align the capillary on the cell concerned.
