The method of quality checking the connection between a cam (2) with a cam aperture and a plastic expanded tubular body inserted into it involves measuring the radial displacement at several points (6-8) around the circumference of the cam as the tubular body is expanded. An average increase in the dia. of the cam aperture or the radial displacement of the centre point (M) of the tubular body is derived from the individual radial displacement values. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables expansion of tubular body or drive shaft to be measured with cam mounted on it and measurement of radial displacement.
