In a package for liquids consisting of a rigid outer cardboard box and a plastic pouch contained within it, an easy method of opening or tearing the outer body and removing the inner pouch is to be provided without the use of perforations which weaken the box or a plastic tear-off strip. This is achieved in that the base and cover flaps (12, 16) on the outside of the cut-out blank (1), which is folded and adhesively secured to form the box, have in one corner area a non-adhesively secured tab for grasping and tearing, projecting slightly from one side of the base or cover flaps (12, 16) and marked off from the rest of the base or cover flap surface by a groove (35, 36). There is a groove (40, 41) in the cardboard cover flap ending a short distance before the grasping and tabs on the underside of the base and cover flaps (12, 16) having the grasping and tear tabs (32, 33), parallel to the boundary grooves (20, 24). The regions (37-40) of the other base or cover flaps lying beneath the grasping and tear-off tabs (32, 33) when the blank (1) is folded and adhesively secured to form the box are lacquered.
