Reflector comprises three overlying reflector layers, each constructed of graphite blocks side by side in one plane. Each reflector layer is in the form of a vault construction and is pref. vertically spaced from the other reflector layers. Pref. each reflector layer comprises three interlocking diagnonal vaults, which intersect at the centre of a central block, and partial vaults between the diagonal vaults. Diagonal- and partial-vaults are constructed from individual graphite blocks. The supports for the diagonal vaults are mounted on the side reflector at the corners of a regular hexagon, while the supports for the partial vaults are mounted on pairs of opposite graphite blocks of adjacent diagonal vaults. ADVANTAGE - Insensitive to high temps.
