The electrical plug connector is formed from two main halves (102) with an end section (103) that receives the electrical cable which is secured with a clamp (104). The ends of the wires are fixed to screw terminal blocks (104). At the front of the plug housing are connecting pins (107) located within a block. Six of the pins connect directly with the six terminal connections, with a further two pins connected to a built in EEPROM memory (109) set onto a circuit board (110). The EEPROM is programmed with data that defines the particular pin configuration being used. ADVANTAGE - Allows connections to be assigned for various applications.
