The appts. for the optical monitoring of objects includes a sensor for the acquisition of image signals and can have an illumination device for illuminating the object. Several image conductors have independently positionable ends (4) facing the object and transfer images to optoelectronic sensors e.g. a CCD array (5) at their other ends (9). Illumination is fed to the object ends of the image conductors via optical or image conductors (24). At least one image conductor carries a lens (13), which can be in the form of an ancillary lens, at the object end. USE/ADVANTAGE - For monitoring product during or after manufacture, e.g. by measurement of scattered light reflexes; achieves high resolution evaluation.
