The electronic circuit for use with fluorescent lamps (LL) that have heating electrodes (HW) has a load circuit stage (LS) including a pair of warm start modules (CR1, CP2). The second of these is connected (2, 4) via a terminal block (AB) to a starter circuit (EVG). One of the warm start modules has a variable capacitor stage provided by capacitors (C1A, C2A) with a coupled switch (SW1). The starter circuit has a rectifier (GL) coupled to a voltage converter (HS) providing an input to the a.c. inverter stage (NR). ADVANTAGE - Improved control for warm starting of lamps.
