Parts are further reinforced by including layers (4) of mono or multifilament fibre. Reinforcement layers are pref. made out of the same material as the main fibre material in the part. The reinforcement fibres are in different directions in the form of a fabric or texture. Mfr. comprises dehydrating a paste of inorganic fibre and binding agent in a mould and sintering. The sintered part is layered with layers of reinforcement fibre alternately until the final part is constructed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Moulded without fracture during subsequent use.
