The circulating table (1) has an input star (2) and an output star (3) together with accommodation places for the bottles with driven rotary plates (5). A labelling station (4) is held stationary on the periphery of the circulating table. All the rotary plates are driven by a belt (9) or chain in the manner of a planet gear, the belt or chain being in contact with all planet wheels. In a short section of the circulating path of the rotary plates, partic. between the input and output stars, the belt or chain lifts away from the planet wheels and runs over a drive wheel (10) driven synchronously with the circulating table. Each rotary plate (5) has a support surface (5a) the shape of the non-rotation symmetrical bottle base, and between each plate and its corresp. planet wheel is a slip coupling. For each rotary plate is provided a stop pawl which is curve-controlled and is capable of blocking the plate.
