The feet (8) of both masts (4) are located at the edge of the hull and are symmetrically arranged. The masts are raked backwards towards the stern and meet together at their mast heads (3) over the fore aft line of the boat. The masts are secured by fore and aft stays. Each of the masts has its own mainsail which can be operated independently of the foresails. The claws of the mainsail may be connected together by a short strut (2) for setting at the same angle on a long strut (7) for running goosewinged.
