Laminate plastic cured by light at 20-60 deg. C - comprises inner layer of thermoplastic and an outer layer of fibre-reinforced reaction resins

Laminate plastic (I) pref. in the form of pipes, with an inner layer of thermoplastic and an outer layer of fibre-reinforced reaction resins is new. The novelty is that the reaction resin is cured by light at 20-60 deg.C. Also claimed is the prepn. of (I) in which the inner layer is used as a lost mandrel and the outer layer is applied by the filament winding process and cold-cured at wavelengths of 300-350 nm. Pref. (I) is sealed at a pressure of 25 bar or more and a safety factor of 4-6. The reaction resin is a UP-resin contg. 30 wt.% or more neopentyl glycol or a epoxide resin. It has up to 10% additive of compatible thermoplastic pref. PVC, CPVC, PPO or PVDF. The residual styrene content when using UP-resins in the outer layer is less than 0.05 pref. 0.005%. 70-80% Glass fibres are used.
