The translatory motion device uses a reaction disc (2) set in rotation by a drive shaft (1). Each surface (24, 25) of the disc has a horizontal and a vertical spiral configuration (3, 8), the spiral arms being offset from each other, but exhibiting the same curvature. The outer horizontal spiral channels pass an opening (9) in a control sleeve (7) at intervals during the rotation of the disc so that the spiral arms (34) are accelerated via a translation medium. Pref., the spiral channels (30) can be covered by a disc (36), with a vertical spiral (8) coaxial to the centre axis (28) of each disc surface. The drive shaft can be powered by an electromotor or gas turbine.
