Braking pressure is modulated by an arrangement (33) of two/two-way inlet and outlet valves (34,40) for the front wheel brakes (18,22). A blocking valve (27) and a constriction (30) are arranged between the inlet valve (34) and master cylinder (15). The constriction (30) is bypassed by a suction line (44) to the high-pressure pump (41) with another blocking valve (50). A second line (35) bypasses the inlet valve (34) also, and is connected by a third bypass (48) to the pump outflow damping chamber (47). ADVANTAGE - Driver comfort is enhanced with less noise and brake-pedal reaction accompanying reduced pulsation during pressure release.
