The covering strip is for the edges of plate-type furniture items, having a smooth underside with fixing devices to the item if desired. Its top surface is chamfered or radiused along the lengthwise edges and accommodates a decorative coating, while the ends are likewise radiused or chamfered and coloured to match the decorative coating. The strip is an injection-moulded plastic component, the decorative coating being moulded into it during the injection- moulding operation, so that it protrudes above the end chamfers or radii. The strip can have an irregular profile. ADVANTAGE - Simple to produce, and improved appearance at the ends in particular.
