To recycle paper waste or shreddings, still impregnated with duroplastics, the paper material is broken down and, if required, mixed with reduced paper, shredded wood or other fibre matter. The material is compressed into plates or other shaped bodies under a raised pressure and temp. The impregnated waste paper is pref. shredded to particles of 1-5 mm dia. and the wood or fibre material is pref. reduced to fibres before mixing, to be added to the paper at 5-50 wt.% and pref. 30 wt.%. The mixt. is compressed into plates, or other shaped bodies, at 120-180 deg.C for 5-10 mins. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for recovery of paper material which is still impregnated with matter such as melamine, phenol resin or urea resin. Effective use for the waste, without damage to the environment, to give prods. for a variety of application
