Recovering liq. rubber during recycling - by thermally decomposing used rubber with crude oil distillate and converting into new prod. during thermal stabilisation
Recovery of liquid rubber during recycling comprises thermally decomposing uncomminuted used rubber prods. in a hermetic reaction vessel at 350-500 deg.C using a high-boiling crude oil distillate, mazut, as the decomposition liquid. After decomposition of the rubber and fracturing of the sulphur bonds, a mixt. of dissolved rubber components and synthetic cord is present which is converted into a new prod. by adding of an octaphosphorous or a chlorine-sulphonated polyethylene during thermal stabilisation at 120-180 deg.C. Also claimed is the appts. for the process comprising a preresolver connected to an oven via a vessel (5). Heating to the reaction temp. is carried out in the oven. The decomposition liquid is fed via a pumping system into a reaction tank connected to a container for rinsing liq. and to heat exchanger for condensing the exhaust gases. The condensate obtained is collected in a vessel via a separator and recycled. ADVANTAGE - This process requires min. energy expenditure. The prod. formed has better bonding properties that those of bitumecom
