The gold strengthens the upper denture whilst the weight of the lower denture is increased. The increase in weight results in the lower denture being more easily held in position. The surface of the upper denture can be coloured and decorated with artistic designs or the patient's name may be marked on the denture surface. Other characteristics of the patient eg. young, old, fat or thin, can also be inscribed on the dentures ADVANTAGE - Strengthens the upper denture and the weight of the gold holds the lower denture in place.
