Bait for protecting stores from rats and mice consists of the active ingredient Diferacoum and a warning dye in a carrier which is polyethylene glycol and/or diethylene glycol. Pref. the dyestuff is Duasyn blue AG VP280. (Hoechst) or DOOW 305 Renastral-Bordo R new (Hoechst). The bait is a liq. and the carrier is polyethylene glycol PEG 100-600 separately or mixed and the soln. is mixed with water in ratio 1:2-4, esp. 3 vol. pts. Alternatively the bait is solid and the carrier is polyethylene glcyol PEG 1000-35000. USE/ADVANTAGE - The bait is readily accepted by the vermin, acts rapidly, is highly effective and easy to prepare. The bait smells and tastes fresh and sweet and is thus attractive to the vermin. As a liq. the vermin drink more of the bait than they would of fresh water. There is apparantly a synergistic effect between the diferacoum, polyethylene glycol and water. Transport of the poison is rapid and it reaches all the vital organs of the vermin. The bait can also be solid.
