According to the method, pressure pick-off points (18, 19) for measuring the air pressure prevailing in the region of the outer skin of the vehicle body are arranged on a vehicle (1) opposite one another on the sides. By means of an actuation element (11, 12), the steering angle (deltah) of an axle (6) is adjusted in such a way that the change in the jawing angle (dpsi/dt) of the vehicle (1) brought about by the lateral wind force approaches zero. The lateral wind force is detected here by means of the differential pressure (Dp) between the pressure pick-off points (18, 19). IMAGE
