An extension connected to the shaft via a ring element, is movable in the transverse bore. When the shaft is mounted incorrectly, the extension at least partly covers the bore. The ring element, with a protective cap (10), is fastened on the transmission-sided end of the gear shaft (1). The extension stretches to the free end of the shaft, and it has an opening (15) for the clamp screw (8).
