The high power electrical switch has 3 main poles (IR, IS, IT) that have actuators controlled via auxiliary switches (2R, 2S, 2T). The control circuit has three sets of trigger contacts (3R, 3S, 3T) arranged in groups and with interconnections. Outputs are generated (5) from one of the stages. Each of the auxiliary switches is activated by coils (4R, 4S, 4T). An alternative arrangement uses all of the 3 sets of contacts and provides 3 pole as well as single pole switching. ADVANTAGE - Provides synchronised isolation switching.
