Filtering solid particles from liquids e.g. metal working lubricants - by tilting bath contg. fluid bearing metal chippings, when specified depth is reach allowing filter panel to be advanced and substd. by new section from same roll
The removal of solid metal particles from a liquid fluid bearing a load of metal chippings is drained to a bath at the base of which is a filter panel thorugh which the fluid drains for collection. As the chippings collected increase, the filter is blocked and obstructs the further passage of fluid which accumulates. When the depth of accummulating fluid in the bath reaches a predetermined depth, the bath is tilted to move the fluid from the filter surface and relieve the downward pressure allowing the filter panel to be advanced and substd. by a new section from the same roll. Filter assembly pref. consists of an outer tank (10) within which a drum (11) consists of a perforated curved base (14) supports a fitler fleece held between curved sidewalls (13). Assembly is pref. supported by an axle (12). Curved base perforations are pref. covered by a filter fleece (16) taken from a roll (15). Float switch (24) pref. detects rising fluid to activate the tipping mechanism and advance the roll when fluid pressure on the blocked section is removed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easy means by which fleece filters mats can be exchanged when blocked without tearing the mats. For the receovery of fluids used to lubricate and cool metal working processes.
