The scanning raster position is adjusted automatically relative to an image surface (1), using a sensor unit (3) with 4 sensors (A..D) arranged in a rectangle, providing output voltages converted via a matrix into correction voltages for horizontal and vertical position of the scanning raster. The sensor unit is angled at 45 degrees, so that its diagonals lie along the horizontal and vertical axes (H,V) of the matrix. Pref. the horizontal correction voltage is provided by a subtraction stage for the output signals provided by the 2 sensors (B,D) lying in line along the horizontal axis (H). The vertical correction voltage is provided by a subtraction stage for the output signals provided by the 2 sensors (A,C) lying in line along the vertical axis (V). USE/ADVANTAGE - For correction of scanning raster for projection TV appts.. Simplified matrix for sensor signals.
