Skin cleanser, contains methyl, ethyl, and/or (iso)propyl palmitate and/or myristate, solvent for the ester, and an emulsifier. Pref the compsn. contains 75-90 wt.% of the esters, liq. alcohol, pref. ethanol and/or isopropanol as solvent, and polysorbate, polyethylene glycol or "Tegomuls" (RTM) as O/W emulsifier. It may contain a perfume or ethereal oil. USE/ADVANTAGE- The cleanser removes mineral oils, fats, paints (esp. synthetic resin and nitro paints and printing inks), tar and bitumen from the skin and from contaminated articles, e.g. tools. The compsn. has good cleaning effect, is kind to the skin, has pH of 7 or a little below, has a neutral odour, contains only a small amt. of solvent and is not inflammable, and can easily be washed off. In an example, cleanser contg. 80% of isopropyl palmitate, 10% of 96% ethanol, 1% of perfume and 9% of "Polysorbate 80" (RTM) removed paint from the hands.
