The electric motor brush roller drive is controlled by a load torque limiting unit, in the manner of an electronic slip clutch. The supply voltage of the drive motor in the event of a load current limitation is not switched off. An over-dimensioned drive motor is used as the electric drive motor with a max. torque, which exceeds a rated torque (safety torque), required for brushing carpets with a large pile density and a large pile height, to which a predetermined load current limit value is assigned, and with which the brush roller does not lock. The load current limiting unit is a phase chopping controller, which in suction mode, on reaching the load current limit value, prevents any further current increase at the drive motor, by lowering the supply voltage. ADVANTAGES - Improved optimised processing of all textile floor coverings without risk of damage to e.g. carpet. Minimises operational interruptions due to safety measures.
