The light beam shooting simulation for measuring spatial objects, which contain at least one reflector, transmits a pulsed light beam. The reflected light is received and evaluated by photosensitive, position sensitive detectors, each as PIN diodes or Ccds. The light pulses are matched to the pulse train, frequency, and light source intensity w.r.t. the reception and opening times of the sensors, based on transmission atmos. and distance of the objects to be measured. Pref. the reception and opening times of the photosensitive sensors can be programmably set by a computer. USE/ADVANTAGE - For object targetting by laser beam, with improved relationship between reflected laser beam ambient object light.
