A wood protecting agent contains a indole and/or indoloquinazoline cpd.. The agent contains tryptamine, gramin, indolyl 3-acetonitrile, indolyl-3-ethanoic acid or its methyl ester, indolyl-3-propionic acid or its methyl ester and/or tryptanthrin. The agent also contains salicylic acid in addition to these cpds.. USE/ADVANTAGE - The wood protecting agent can be used on wood both before and after attack and is esp. effective against insects which destroy wood (e.g. Hylotrupes bajulus, Anobium punctatum, and termites) and fungi which destroy wood (e.g. coniphora puteana, Postica placenta). The agent uses organic active ingredients of as low toxicity as possible and which have a broad spectrum of activity. The agent is free from heavy metals and halogeno-cpds.. The toxicity towards humans is very low and the agent is environmentally friendly.
