Foam generating nozzle for pressurised liquids e.g. for aeration of tap-water - does not require sec. venturi air inlets between break-up nozzle and sieve screen

The foam in spray nozzles for liquids have a fine break-up nozzle for breaking up liq. fed under pressure and a sieve spaced apart from the break-up nozzle and on the axis of the conical spray beam. The sieve (3) has at least one sieve-free aperture (8,10,11,16) (claimed). The sieve-free holes in the sieve-screen can be varied to suit the prod./application, and are generally greater than 0.26 mm., more usually 0.6-1.0 mm., and in particular a hole area of 0.049-0.785 mm2 is claimed. In particular embodiments claimed, the sieve screen can be convex or concave. In a further claimed embodiment, the sepn. distance of screen and break-up nozzle is adjustable. USE/ADVANTAGE - The foam producing nozzle arrangement is used for water taps, household appliances and domestic cleanser dispensers e.g. break-up actuator nozzles, providing uniform spray, and without the necessity for Venturi type secondary air inlets between the the break-up nozzle and the sieve screen.
