Machine to chamfer teeth edges of gears - has spindle driven by servo motor and moved to=and=fro by piston-cylinder unit whose movement is controlled by servo valve
Machine to chamfer teeth edges of gears - has spindle driven by servo motor and moved to=and=fro by piston-cylinder unit whose movement is controlled by servo valve
The machine has a workpiece spindle (1) with a drive (7,8) which incorporates a servo motor. The rate of rotation of the spindle, which is either continuous or in steps, is determined by a controller (2). The spindle can be moved to and fro by a piston-cylinder unit. This movement is controlled by a servo valve (22) and is in synchronisation with the rotation of the spindle. The spindle (1) is mounted in a sleeve (3), which is connected to the rotary drive and in which it can move over the required stroke. It can be connected to the sleeve by a coupling (9). The piston (14) is mounted on the end of the spindle which protrudes from the sleeve and moves in a cylinder (20). The piston moves together with the spindle (1) when operated by the servo valve. The actual movement of the spindle is detected by the controller so that it can operate the servo valve. USE/ADVANTAGE - Several types of chamfer can be given to the workpiece e.g. the edges can be rounded. No additional drive or gear change, step drive or control curves are required.
