The housing of a roller shutter is constructed from shaped bricks of U shaped cross-section. The bricks are joined end to end and are reinforced by longitudinal reinforcements which are held in place by a binding medium. The bricks are also reinforced by transverse elements which are spaced apart from each other along the length of the brick. The bricks are mounted with the legs of the U shape fitting U shaped longitudinal rails. The rails (S) are also reinforced with longitudinal elements embedded in a binding medium. ADVANTAGE - The bricks form a high strength housing for the roller shutter.
