The method involves periodically projecting stripe patterns onto the object and forming images of the projected patterns on one or more camera sensors. The patterns recorded by each projection-detection arrangement are separately evaluated by computing the strip phases from the recorded images. The forward tooth edge (1a) of a gear wheel (1c) is measured with one projection-detection arrangement (P1) and the rear tooth edge (1b) is measured with another (P2). USE/ADVANTAGE - For rapid, accurate optical object measurement, esp. of the functional surfaces of gear wheels.
