A hardening unit for photopolymerisable materials includes a light source which is designed to emit UV light, a connected light guide which directs the light away, a flexible main air channel arrayed coaxially w.r.t. the light guide, and spacing elements which keep the channel at a uniform distance from the light guide. The channel has an air inlet and an inlet opening for the light guide, as well as an outlet openings for the same. The air and the light guide can enter and leave via the same openings. The unit also includes a device for moving air through the channel. ADVANTAGE - The unit is efficient and reliable and is economical in use.
