In a process evolution computer the hardware and the media employed, e.g. fluids, vapours, are modelled using meta-cellular automats in which model processes run according to set or learned rules. The processes are read automatically and abstracted using self-constructing Petri networks and multiple flow analysis. Evolution follows using parallel genetic algorithms and problem recognition and solving the model processes and selectively input process data are used to identify system and component condition, process diagnoses, process prognoses, recommendations for system operator action etc. USE - In power stations, chemical plant etc.
