Railtrack fixing on unballasted base of Y-shaped sleepers - where sleepers are laid on ground plates with ribs which allow longitudinal movement while providing lateral support.
Railtrack fixing on unballasted base of Y-shaped sleepers - where sleepers are laid on ground plates with ribs which allow longitudinal movement while providing lateral support.
A ground plate (8) is fixed to the surface of the track bed, ie reinforced concrete of a bridge. Projecting upwards from this place are ribs (7), which are used to prevent sideways movement of the yoke plate but simultaneously allowing longitudinal movement. The yoke plate and Y-sleeper can pre-fabricated. The ground plate can be welded or screwed to the track bed to give a very firm support to accommodate the stresses set up in long lengths of welded rail. USE/ADVANTAGE - For track construction with Y-sleepers without restriction on rail length.
