Fully automatic washing machine has level regulator (41) for regulating the build-up of washing soln. in the washing drum (3) or washing soln. container (21). The level regulator registers the water level and is connected to pump (7) electrically via the program control system. The ratio between the pumping performance of the pump (7), the cross-sections (16) of the soln.-guiding lines (120) into the washing drum interior (9) and the cross-sections (39) or the soln. discharge openings (17) is selected in such way that free soln. amt. of 0.5-6 l. stays in the washing drum during the reserve pumping process. ADVANTAGE - Reduces water, energy and detergent consumption.
